  Strutin’ ‘Round

Now that we have a Whiteline front strut brace installed in the 180SX working its magic on the front towers, Hot4s felt that it was necessary to add a rear strut brace to the package to fully experience their handling benefits in conjunction. Since the Nissan is a hatch back, its chassis strength and structural integrity is compromised directly from the design. After experiencing the effects of a rear strut brace in a 180SX I must say that it is an essential upgrade for any such car. The rear was now incredibly stable and less likely to crash and buckle when hauling through a series of pot holes. If coming through a corner, accelerating hard after the apex results in the car powering down and shooting out of the corner, no mess, no fuss. The Whiteline strut brace allows the rear shocks, springs, brakes and tyres all work to their optimum level and, together with the front strut brace, provide direct, smooth and responsive handling. Simply put, it is an awesome and cheap upgrade.

Step 1:
Locate and remove rear strut trim covers. Unbolt strut tower nuts.

Step 2 :
Remove strut bar from the mounts. Position strut bar mounts onto towers. Bolt nuts back on.

Step 3 :
Fit strut bar between mounts and re attach using the quick release clips. (These have been designed by Whiteline allowing for easy and fast extraction of the bar for extra storage space if needed. Protection has been provided for the strut mounts).

Step 4 :
Make sure the brace is securely attached to the mounting plates.

Step 5 :
Enjoy your Whiteline rear strut brace!
