MINI TESTERS REQUIRED FOR MINI MINIS

And that really does mean ‘mini’, because MINI Australia has just launched a new breed of desktop models.

As the press release states, “The entire vehicle has been redesigned and many of its characteristic details refined, with these changes captured in an intricate and accurate scale model that now requires testers to try out some of the amazing stunts for which MINI is renowned. While MINI does not expect these tests to involve being driven around on the roof of an SUV, stuck on billboards, or flushed down drains to emulate its celluloid brethren, typical driving tasks will no doubt involve being pushed to the limits, skirting corners, and emergency avoidance manoeuvres in the tablelands.

Fortunately the new model MINI comes with excellent steering and is large enough for testers to retain a good grip on the whole car while playing at being a racing driver.

These high-quality 1:18th scale models of both the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S are a must-have addition to any serious collector’s display, though MINI will be encouraging new owners to ensure they run-in their new cars in, in accordance with the handbook. Owners are further cautioned not to attempt an oil-change procedure themselves.

These high-quality MINI models are made from injection-moulded zinc and plastic. The bonnet, boot, doors and sunroof can all be opened, offering a unique glimpse into the all new interior.
The mini MINI Cooper comes in Chilli Red, with the Lightning Blue version also available in Australian-market spec right-hand-drive, making it even easier for our MINI testers to practise locally.

The MINI Cooper S is available in the signature Laser Blue paint scheme as well as classy Dark Silver.
MINI testers can obtain their new models immediately from MINI Garages across Australia priced at $115 including GST. As a special concession, no stamp duty, compulsory third party or registration fees are applicable, but due to the attractive nature of these vehicles and their dynamic driving abilities, MINI suggests owners consider suitable insurance.”
