  STICK IT - DVD REVIEW

Words: Jason Round

After watching scantily clad females gyrating around a gym, we know where we’d like to stick it after watching this flick. Yep, that’s right, we’d stick it right back in the DVD player, because this is damn fine entertainment.
In the same kind of music-video thread as Bring It On and Save the Dance, Stick It follows an authority-challenged Haley Graham (aka uncanny Hilary Swank look-a-like) and her journey back to gymnastic stardom.
Naturally, you’re going to get a whole bunch of stereotypes and clichés thrown together, but if, like us, you’ve come to see an entertaining no-brainer the equivalent of a classy pole dance (is there such a thing?) on caffeine, bingo, you won’t be disappointed.
Jeff Bridges is well placed as crazed a crazed down-and-out gym teacher, and the film does have its moments of moral clarity, but the effects and visual appeal are all geared up to the under-20s. Thankfully, we act more like 15-year-olds here at Hot4s, and so we are perfectly placed for this thrill-a-minute kind of pace and editing.
All up, it’s a decent flick. Stick it out and reap the curvy rewards.

FINAL VERDICT: 3/5
