Well, it has been a fave in our books since we drolled all over it at last year’s Motor Show, but it seems others like the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione too, because it has just been named 2006 Production Car Design of the Year, with an overwhelming 73 per cent of the votes cast.

Designed by Wolfgang Egger, head of design at Alfa, the 8C was judged as winner by over 100,000 of the world’s leading automotive designers, so yes, it’s quite the accolade.
