COMMAND AND CONQUER 3: TIBERIUM WARS ANNOUNCED

Ah, do you remember burning the midnight oil with Red Alert, that heavy metal theme kickin’ in the background? Sure you do, and you probably remember the string of successors that followed in its wake. Well, EA Games has just announced the third Command and Conquer instalment, Tiberium Wars, for the Xbox 360 platform, and it promises an immersive multiplayer format, involved single-player missions and fast-action, strategic game-play.

“The Command and Conquer series finally makes its return to the console after seven years,” said Mike Verdu, Executive Producer at EALA. “C&C 3 will help expand the RTS genre on the Xbox 360, building off of the foundation laid by the development of The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II. EA is evolving the console controls so that strategy gaming plays and feels native to the platform.”

Plot-wise, the year’s 2047 and Earth is being taken over by a self-replicating alien substance known as Tiberium. Of course, some want it gone and some don’t, and thus begins the war. For more information, visit www.commandandconquer.EA.com.
