k ive got an 86 G11 charade and my friend has a swift Gti with rear-end damage but a perfectly good 1.3L G13B engine and is willing to sell me it for $100.The charade has a gutless 38kw 1L carby engine which is nearly half the power of the G13B(75kw).i've never done an engine conversion before so can someone tell me how hard it really is, or should i just stick a turbo in it?(i'm looking for the easiest option)

No point converting to the swift engine. Two things rule it out: 1) it's from another manufacturer, so you'll have to knock up some custom engine mounts. 2) there are much much better options out there Smile. For example, try looking for a GTti Charade engine, it's a turbo engine that'll drop straight into your engine bay. Another option would be the lustier 1.6 SOHC DeTomaso engine that has around 90kW. It has an aggressive camshaft so top end power is pretty good. Slap a turbo on it and it should go like a rocket.

Conversion will be WAY too much trouble. New mounts, probably have to modify the bay a tiny bit or even re arrange engine components depending on all the size's ( i dont know for sure coz im not an expert on charades or Swifts). Either find the GTI charade engine or why dont you sell the charade for a different small car with more power ie. buy yourself a swift and avoid all the fuss!

hi mate you might want to have alook at this site:
www.redlinegti.com
this is a site dedicated to the little power houses should beable to get some feed back from the boys, regarding your ideas.
the gti engines pull hard throughout the rev range and are so easy to work modify if you have basic mechanical skills.my little beast revs upto 8500rpm... its stock standard only chipped ecu
