How Low Can You Go?

Let's go back to basics here. For a noob about to lower their car, how low is too low before you can't go to the shops because of speedbumps in the parking lot?

i don't know that much details but i think your car should be at least two inches above the tires otherwise you will be only able to run it in your garage.

legally, you need 100mm MINIMUM clearance under your car, everywhere.
The man is right, 100mm is the limit. not including the brake backing plates and the suspension components in that area.

i had mine sooooo sweet but it took us two hours to get it off a low show car trailer and then couldnt even get it up my driveway (WITH pulling some major angle) so drove it up the neighbours driveway (not as bad) and wound up the suspension..
100mm is legal. the lowest point of ur car including undercarriage must be min 100mm above ground and practically u dont want it lower. takes you longer to go places lol

100mm from the ground is the legal limit but some cars can sit heaps lower safer depending on the car

Somewhere around that ballpark figure is about as practically low as you can go without scraping something.
the extractors on my commodore sat about 70mm above the ground but that wasn't an issue really (although illegal) due to the fact that they were close to the front wheels (hence they went up when the wheels went up).
just think how high a speed hump is, when you go over one, the minimum height of your car should be taller than the height of the speedhump, otherwise your car will scrape.
