1) Budget?
2) How many doors?
3) P plater? Have you got power/engine restrictions?
4) Are you looking for something economical, or don't you mind spending lots on petrol?
5) Any future mods planned? i.e. when you get off P's what do you want to do engine/power-wise
6) Do you like a particular style? (Japanese/Euro/Muscle)
7) Anything you had in mind?

First of all tell me about budget.

Oh you really need to narrow your search like what type of car you want. The only thing here matters is your budget. as soon as your budget is set you will be able to find the best car in it.

I totally agree with this opinion, besides you can visit different sites and look for car pictures and their prices. Then it will be much easier.
