well pioneer is a good brand my sound system is all pioneer and it isnt too expensive either and calrion is a good one as well

Cheers, I was looking at brnds like MTX Audio, Fusion etc. Just wanted to know wat u guys thought was they way to go.

hmm it all depends on what kind of money you have really honestly if your after sound quality or spl id go rockford fosgate that's what i use won a couple of sound off compitions but very expensive gear.
and um dont go with mtx iv had many of there gear blow up mysteriously
maybe because they just wernt good enough for what i was looking for.

fusion is ok as long as its in the powerplant range.

best head unit (aka cd player) would be kenwood iv found
(only the newer ones though)

speakers and subs and amps go with fusion see the guys in your car audio dealer about what amp would be best to use on the powerplant subs and speakers... i recomend though going with 2 or 3 amps depending how serious you want to get .

go for the fusion powerplant 1000watt subs and get either 2x 1500watt monoblock fusion amps or 1x 3000 watt monoblock amp and for speakers get 1x 4ch 500watt (or close to it) that should be a decent system to listen too

oh and dont forget the 4 gauge amp power kit
u may need rca splitters or an extra rca lead too depending if u decide to go with 2 or 3 amps

thanks viper111, i was just looking after something decent to listen to, not like im going to enter any sound comps or anything. Just after sum decent sound because the stock stereo and speakers are just about dead, with any hint of bass and they crap their pants. How much do u reccomend i spend in regards to speakers, apms etc. Ive been looking at a few decent (in my opinion) head units for around the $200 range.

um well speaker wise if u go fusion i was light on cash for a bit till i went into sound comp.... but i had 6ich fusion encounter splits in the front fusion encounter 6x9 in rear and 2 pioner 1000 whatt subs.
if i were u id do that its a pretty good system for general listening too sound quality is good if u set it right... umm but get the latest pioneer 12" subs there 1200 watt each should roughly be between 100 and 175 each speakers are about 120 each set and for an amp well id get a clarion monoblock 850 watt i think it is... 800 bux though.... but a decent amp. if thats to much go with the kenwood monoblock 1800 watt
there about half that price.
for the head unit.. i know this will go against everything i stand for but sony explode will do just fine.. or if u can tlk to a few people and try get a pioneer one for cheap but not the old ones.
i see u live in newcastle .. go to kotara and see the guys at straithfeild they should be able to get what ur looking for. i think repco stores sell the fusion gear aswell..

hey man i have 2 fusions 12" encounter subs that i bought for 40 bucks each that i wanted for awhile will i do my bigger box and they go pretty good. if you just want music you can drive around to without winning comps i would go with fusion subs even one would do. i no what you mean by budget ay hahah just wait for sales to pop up and you will find good stuff cheap
