changing views on 2days car scene
First of all b4 anyone starts sending out their h8 mail u should read this.I know that this issue has been raised so many times that people are probably sik of it but its something i feel strong about. Now i love a nice car just as much as the next car nut but there seems 2 be a growing trend in our scene. Now i love sex spec just as much as the next person but as of late that seems 2 be all thats in the show scene and its always the same cars whether its a rexy or s14.My point is u can't keep using the same old method of flashy paint, loud interior and chrome dubs.Everyone is doing it, wasn't the point of owning a moddified car to stand out from the crowd and to be differnt. Now i'm not sayin that people shouldn't do it just cause someone says to or because someone else is doing the same thing. All i am saying is challenge yourself to think outside the box to do new and inventive things other wise sooner all later the true meaning of moddified rides will become extinct and it will be just another car.
I agree also. But the problem is that there's not many unique ways to modify your ride anymore as the whole thing's a cliche. Those with the cash to modify their car need to brainstorm a bit I think. Like the nutter who put a GSX1300R Hayabusa motorcycle engine in his Smart. It's so ridiculously stupid that it's brilliant. Because it's unique.
true true..this is out of the box thinking...mini cooper with hayabusa engine
hey stig. the problem isn't there's not many ways left. i see it as its too easy for people to buy an import, slap some wheels and exhaust on it,then claim it as a modified car. sure they look, sound and go ok,but they not modified. mostly they are standard productions.
the true sense/meaning of modifying cars stems from the hot rod era. it all leads back to here. these started with simple mods like removing unnecessary parts,or simply ad a bigger/worked engine.
although my interest in cars is considered 'old school' today, buying a bomb and building it holds more credit than buy a production car and calling it modified.
think out side the square. dont follow trends. its yours,so make it yours.
the first car i built was a xd falcon. and while most of my mates had these,or commodores,no two where the same. then we got into gemini's,and again,no two where the same. sure we would borrow ideas from each other, and magazines, but we always added our own twist on things.
performance shops are great. its good to see more than there was when i started. but use them sparingly and wisely. try most body/trim mods ya self(this is where the top guys got started). leaving only major mechanical mods to the performance guys.
remember, the more you put in,the more you respect and enjoy it.
Hello
Is this Really True?
im also sick of seeing the same old, same old modified car on the scene these days, something with a flashy paint job, fully re-trimmed interior, huge chromies, and tv's in places that ur never gonna watch a tv.
it might be true that there aren't really many ways left to modify cars but whats wrong with going back to styles that aren't really seen anymore these days.
styles go in and out of popularity and i dont see wots wrong with going back to a style that worked 6-7 years ago to prevent the scene from getting stale.
is what true nazar2k2?
when i was in my late teens early 20's,we made/customised parts in our back yard. engines were built in our sheds. paint was applied in the same shed, sometimes on dirt floors and still took home trophies.
basicly,we built own own cars, using our own initiative.
as my signature line says 'get out there. get dirty. get creative.'
dont just settle for whats on sale in the bolt on shops. do ya own creating.
Well people will find new ways to modifiy there cars so that it dosent look like "just another car". Like crowny said get out there get dirty and get CREATIVE

i gotta agree. its like an assembly line out there. every one doing the same mods.
when i started out modifying cars,me and my mates had to do exactly that, modify parts to fit our rides. there where no,if little, mod shops. we created our own from parts sourced at wreckers or swap meets. or simply just made it. as well as this,it was all done in our back yards/sheds.
the true meaning of modified cars has been lost to the chase for the all mighty dollar. parts are now mass produced. and in a lot of cases, they don't fit properly.
get dirty. do some hard work. who cares if ya m8s dont like what you turn out,as long as you do. and the more work you do ya self, the more you appreciate it.
GET OUT THERE.GET DIRTY.GET CREATIVE.
